Spotlight on Diana Novoselic – A Love of Art, Design, Travel & Nature Led Her To A Life in Hawai‘i
Diana Novoselic first fell in love with Hawai‘i on a college trip to visit her cousin, who had the seemingly idyllic job as an O‘ahu lifeguard. Diana subsequently moved to O‘ahu’s beautiful North Shore in 1997, when she was just 24 years old. She has never looked back. “I’m surrounded by beauty every day…it never gets old,” she says of her home of almost 20 years.
Diana obtained her brokerage license in 2010 after more than a decade working as a licensed agent in the state of Hawai‘i. She is is a designated international sales agent, as well as a Luxury Homes Specialist. She also manages some exceptional Hawai‘i vacation homes and long-term rental properties for her clients.
With all of her skilled experience, it’s no wonder she has been nominated three times for the Aloha ‘Āina REALTOR® Awards. The awards are the industry’s premier recognition of excellence, established by the Honolulu Board of Realtors to honor real estate professionals who “provide exceptional service to their clients and colleagues.”
With a passion for art, design, and travel, the real estate industry was a natural fit for Diana. Next year will mark 20 years working in O‘ahu real estate, serving clients across the island in a wide variety of transaction types. Diana has been a strong team player on sales teams working on new high-rise construction – marketing condos from pre-construction to completion, from the ground level to the Penthouse. She’s represented and sold large parcels of vacant land, single-family homes, investment properties, townhomes and condos of every type. She is most proud of having helped local families to become homeowners after they have saved their money to purchase the plantation home they grew up in.
How does she do it? She takes a highly personalized approach to doing business. “Making a friend first is the most important part of any relationship. No one will notice your qualities if they don’t first like you and trust you,” she explained. “I LOVE my clients! Helping them find their perfect spot in Hawai‘i is a passion for me. I get to pick and choose who to work with most of the time and my clients have become friends along the way. The respect and trust is what keeps my business growing and we have fun too! This business can be dry and boring, so when we all get along, we can make magic happen…”
Diana focuses on paying close attention to detail and providing a high level of service to her clients. Judging by the recognition she’s received from her peers through the Honolulu Board of Realtors, she excels at going the extra mile for them. “I always say, ‘do what others fear to do, do what others won’t do, do what you know to be right and just’ – and you will succeed at anything,” Diana told us.
Born in San Pedro, California and raised in the rainy Pacific Northwest, Diana loves taking advantage of Hawai‘i’s year-round beautiful weather to get out in nature. She and her boyfriend, who is a pilot, are both passionate about Hawai‘i’s natural assets, “We love to be outdoors and near the ocean whenever possible,” she told us recently. They also love to travel and they gravitate to exotic destinations. On weekends here in Hawai‘i, they love to cook together and explore new ways to prepare standard dishes.
Whether it’s road-tripping, visiting penguins, exploring caves, jet-skiing in Moorea, or cruising glacier coastlines, adventure and travel play a pivotal role in Diana’s journey. She recently joined the team at Hawai‘i Life, bringing almost 20 years of experience to her role. She spoke a little about her career and her choice to join our team, “It’s been a very rewarding and challenging ride! I chose Hawai‘i Life for their modern approach to doing business and also for their warm, progressive company culture, which fits my values and lifestyle. They have a more modern way of doing business.”
