Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers Katie Minkus is New Vice President of Hawaii Association of Realtors

A big congratulations to Katie Minkus, R(B)!

Hawaii Life’s Big Island Broker, Katie Minkus, steps up to the plate as the new Vice President of the Hawaii Association of Realtors (HAR), which “is the largest professional trade organization in Hawaii and is dedicated to the protection and preservation of the free enterprise system, and the right of the individual to own real property.” The honorable designation as Vice President was appointed to her by being selected from a competitive field of nominees.

Katie Minkus, R(B)

This is not the first time Katie has been recognized by the State of Hawaii for her outstanding work in Hawaii real estate. She has been the President-Elect of the West Hawaii Association of Realtors (previously the Kona Board of Realtors) and has served as the Board’s Vice President, and as a director. In September 2010, she graduated from the Hawaii Association of Realtor’s Leadership Academy and in October 2010 was nominated for “Broker of the Year” for her outstanding performance.

In addition to her work with Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers, Katie now serves as the President of the West Hawaii Association of Realtors and will now take on the additional responsibilities that come along with being the Vice President of HAR. Katie is dedicated to not only Hawaii real estate, but also the community and those she works with. She successfully manages 30 Hawaii Life Brokers and Realtors, and has the support of 425 West Hawaii Association of Realtors members; as the new Vice President of HAR, another 9,000 members will be added to that. She’s going to be one busy woman!

Katie has been a driving force in establishing Hawaii Life’s West Hawaii presence by supporting the Big Island group in upgrading their technology and social networking skills for the current era. “I pretty much live my life out loud and if there’s one thing I’m committed to, it’s walking my talk. Clearly, that’s one of the most important tenants of leadership, and I believe in transparency,” says Katie. Katie echoes Hawaii Life’s founding principle that the standard of service is everything. “We represent people; not money, or commission, or dollar volume sold, or number of transactions. People first.”

We are very proud of Katie and wish her the best of luck with her new responsibilities and obligations! Way to go Katie!

@Tracy… those are mighty fine words coming from an incredible example to follow, such as yourself!! Your footsteps are big… I can’t ever hope to fill them, but will do my best to be of service to our fellow REALTORS in Hawaii, and our industry as a whole. Truly, at the end of the day I am here because of YOUR encouragement – and I do what I do because of the difference in makes in the lives of the people I serve. As you know, that is a reward that is beyond measure. Mahalo nui loa from the bottom of my heart for your ongoing support!!
