Coming Soon to Waikoloa Kings Shops – Foster’s Kitchen and Big Island Shave Ice Co., Inc.

As many of you know, part of my morning walk with my husband includes a trip through the King’s Shops in Waikoloa Beach Resort. We were recently saddened to see a great restaurant close. The Koa Table was a wonderful place to gather with friends and family and the local style food was delicious. For the past few weeks, we have walked by and pondered what would be opening in place of the Koa Table. I am happy to say that today that mystery was solved.  One of my favorite Kona restaurants is coming to Waikoloa. Foster’s Kitchen will be opening its second location soon. My family and I cannot wait. They are what I would call a “slow food establishment” meaning that they take their time to prepare your meal. They also pride themselves on using local products, non-GMO, and certified organic products when possible. I am looking forward to having Foster’s Kitchen a short drive from my home.

Up until recently the only time we could get our favorite shave ice was on Wednesdays in the King’s Shops parking lot when the Big Island Shave Ice truck would make its weekly appearance. There is almost always a line and believe me when I say that it is well worth the wait. I am happy to announce that they too will be joining the King’s Shops family and will also be opening a retail store across from Whalers General Store.

Something tells me I am not the only one excited to see these two great places opening here soon in Waikoloa.

You are definitely not the only one who is excited! Fosters Kitchen has become one of my favorites in Kona and Iʻm glad Koa Table found a worthy successor for that space.
