Recently, I was showing clients property at the Waikoloa Beach Resort (MLS# 239011), and because I have had so many inquiries and requests for property showings at this resort, I was thinking how this resort has developed into such a wonderful vacation destination over the years. There is truly something for everyone here. Some of the wonderful attractions and sites I have personally enjoyed over the years have been the fishponds; Ku’uali’i and Kahapapa fishponds.
Translated, Anaeho’omalu means protected mullet and was known for its thriving aquaculture. These ponds were tended in the past by family groups who passed down the practices for generations. Another important and interesting attraction are the Petroglyphs.
Waikoloa Beach Resort has some of the best examples of petroglyphs in the state; the closest thing to a written language used by the Hawaiians. Ala Kahakai, translated “trail by the sea,” is a 175 mile trail system which the Hawaiians called “walking paths” and the trails are accessible at several places along the shoreline of Anaehoomalu Bay.
Then, there is the bay itself referred by many as “A” Bay, which boasts some of the most beautiful sunsets and is popular with wind surfers, para sailors as well as snorkelers and divers. Let’s not forget the two golf courses; the Kings’ Golf Course designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, and the Beach Golf Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The resort is also home to two wonderful hotels, The Hilton Waikoloa Village and Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.
To top it off, there are two separate shopping centers; the King’s Shops and Queens Market Place which contains a food court, a full schedule of Hawaiian cultural activities, and entertainment, various boutiques, and galleries. These are just a few of the many features and attractions that makes this a great vacation and family destination, and that is why the properties situated within this resort are so popular with travelers from all over the world.
The price points of the properties in this resort are as varied as the things to do; prices ranging for condos from $250,000 to $3,495,000, and residential homes ranging in price from $4,199,000 to $6,500,000. There is something here for everyone’s taste and pocket book. Hope to see you there!
