The Value of Staging Your Home – Working with an Interior Decorator

Working With An Interior Decorator

In previous posts, I’ve written about Do It Your Self staging as well as working with a professional stager. In this post you’ll take you through an example of how woking with a professional Interior Decorator can provide value to a Seller.

Fancy homes call for fancy solutions. When working with multi million dollar listings, my recommendation is to work with an interior decorator. Interior decorators are true artists that have the most recent trends and styles memorized like a multiplication chart. A good interior decorator will provide depth and texture to a space and turn a structure into an inviting home that entices Buyers to sit, relax, enjoy, and then write a big check.

Buyers

When working with Buyers in this price range, I’ve found that very few are willing to take on major repairs, much less a remodeling project. As a Seller, that means making sure your home is move-in ready should be top priority.

Many of the properties in the multi million dollar price range will also be sold furnished. Working with an interior decorator will help to ensure your home feels freshly updated by adding with modern design elements that make your home feel welcoming.

An Interior Decorator firm that I’ve worked with in the past is Drake Interiors. Originally out of Chicago, the firm has now expanded to San Francisco and Hawaii.

An Interior Decorator At Work

Here’s an example of some of Drake Interiors design work while consulting on a newly built home.

This home located at 73-1212 Ikenanani Place was built as a spec home. I listed it at $749,000 and thanks to the modern Hawaiian design elements Drake Interiors designed the home got multiple offers and sold in the first week! You can read more about this home in my previous blog here.

Sellers

As a Seller, you’re competing with all the other listings on the market. How are you going to attract the Buyer who wants a comfortable space to host family and friends? How are you going to attract a Buyer who wants to enjoy all that Hawaii living has to offer? Or the Buyer who is willing to pay top dollar for a place to call home? Hiring a professional stager or interior decorator will help to set you apart from the rest of the competition.

If you’re looking to sell a home in Hawaii, I would love to hear from you!
