Kids Activities in Kailua-Kona – The Tsunami Water Slide at Alii Gardens Marketplace

Aloha! I spent time cruising with a new girlfriend in Kona on Sunday and wanted to share with you the fun I saw at Alii Gardens Marketplace~

What I thought was super fun for the kids was the tsunami water slide located at the top of the marketplace. Those brave ones that flew down this colossal slide had a great time, especially on a typically hot day in Kona!

The Climb Up the Tsunami

Standing at about 45 feet high and about 200 feet long, this monster slide is very intimidating when you’re standing next to it, but the kids don’t mind – the higher the better!

Here’s a taste of the slide through a happy Tsunami rider

How to Ride the Slide

Prices to ride the slide are $2.00/per slide to $15/hour, and can be reserved for private parties. The white sand area around the slide make for an experience that feels like you are near the beach.

Tanner and Katherine Irons are the owners and are at the check-in area, making sure clients are equipped and prepared for a fun and wet ride down the slide! Give them a call at 808-987-5294 or 808-987-3146 to find out more! The slide is open from Tuesday through Sunday from 10am-5pm, and has no age limit on who gets to have fun! (Yay!)

Alii Gardens Marketplace

This marketplace on Alii Drive, located just south of Alii Lani condominiums, was a fun place to hang out, especially for kids! Though there wasn’t much open that day, Nathalie’s Shave Ice offered lunch with a Moroccan mixture of plates, along with yummy shaved ice and appetizers.

We hope to see you having fun with the kids on Sunday in Kona! Next time I’m going to be better prepared with a swimsuit and towel in my bag!

I was so tempted to slide down that slide after seeing all the kids having a blast speeding down that thing! Take a video or iphone.. and I heard by the hour may be cheaper than per slide as the kids usually like to go more than once~ Cool parent Todd and Julie! Lucky babies!
