Relax and Enjoy a Day at Andaz Maui

Andaz Maui

One of the most exceptional resorts in Wailea, Maui, Andaz Maui is a great place to spend the day if you are seeking relaxation and indulging in serenity. Walking on the property, you’ll appreciate the welcoming design and the “Aloha” the resort staff has to offer. The view from this resort is absolutely stunning, from the sunshine glimmering off the many hues of blue of the ocean water, to witnessing a humpback whale breach during whale season (November-May). The views can be enjoyed from one of the three infinity pools, which in my opinion are the best on Maui. Need a little more privacy, cabanas are available for rent as well. Add in your favorite beverage to the picture and the day can’t get any better right?

Side note: Thirty percent of cabana rental fees are donated to the fight against AIDS. Contact Andaz concierge to reserve your cabana (808) 243-4703.

‘Awili Spa & Resort

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any better, check out the spa or book yourself a 60 or 90 minute “essential” massage. Recharge yourself with spa facilities such as the dry sauna, eucalyptus steam room, tranquility pool, and heated plunge pool. According to Massage Magazine, the Hawaiian Lomilomi technique offered in the “essential” massage package may increase spiritual power and personal power (mana). The massage is something I recommend, but check out the website for all of the other treatments they offer.

Dinner with the Iron Chef

Now that you have rejuvenated your mind, body, and soul, let’s recharge your body with some great food at Morimoto Maui. Chef Masaharu Morimoto, Iron Chef, has a created a menu that’s a blend of Japanese and American cuisine that will surely please your palate. My suggestions include Hamachi Tacos for an appetizer (small, but loaded with flavor) and the A-5 Waygu to make your mouth drool for days at the mere thought of it. Like sake, try one of his premium sake selections produced in collaboration with Fukumitsuya Brewery. Almost forgot to mention the sushi, enjoy the fresh fish artistically and carefully put together, so that you can savor the taste with each bite. Word of advice — if you time your day correctly, have dinner around sunset and enjoy the 180-degree view from the restaurant.

Maui is truly a great place to live with many opportunities to make you smile. I hope to share some of these things that I have come to enjoy with you, so that you can enjoy Maui, as much as I do. Aloha!
