Aloha Thanksgiving – Recommended Holiday Recipes & Vacation Rentals
The holiday season is quickly approaching, with Thanksgiving just a few weeks away. Thanksgiving is a holiday where we come together with family and friends to offer gratitude for all the wonderful things in our lives, spend time with each other, and talk story. But I think it goes without saying that the most anticipated part of the day, at least it is certainly my favorite, is the feast!

The turkey, the potatoes, the pies, just thinking about it makes me hungry! This year, I decided to start thinking outside the box and discovered a Thanksgiving menu with a little island flare. Ingredients such as guava, fresh fish, okinawa sweet potatoes, coconut, and macadamia can all be sourced local and organic and give the menu an exotic touch.
Aloha Thanksgiving Recipes

- Steamed Mahimahi Laulau
- Hawaiian-Portuguese Smoked Turkey

- Macadamia Nut Tart
Places to Stay For the Holiday
We have two beautiful homes still available for the upcoming holiday that would be the perfect place to host your Aloha Thanksgiving:
1. Our featured Kauai home is the elegant and spacious King Hale. Set beachfront in the serene community of Haena, this air-conditioned 4BD/4BA can sleep up to 10 guests.
The fully equipped gourmet kitchen has top of the line appliances, granite countertops, and formal ocean view dining for 8. There are two large lounge areas off the kitchen that have floor to ceiling windows with doors that open to your private beachfront lanai.

There are 3 bedrooms on the upper main floor and guest accommodations downstairs with their own personal entry. Haena beaches offer surfing, shelling, sunning, and (when weather permitting) world-class snorkeling. A quick drive to Hanalei town will bring you to a variety of restaurants and charming boutiques.
2. Pili Pono, on the sunny shores of Puako, of the Big Island’s Kohala Coast, is a newly completed 5,384 sq. ft. waterfront home which offers a truly private and luxurious experience.
The gourmet kitchen boasts all Miele appliances, granite countertops, and is complete with a built-in-convection oven, perfect for roasting a turkey in a short amount of time. There is formal dining for 8 with sliding pocket doors just beyond that open up the entire living area to the outside.

Love the suggestion to explore O’ahu like a local — that kind of authentic insight is exactly what makes a trip memorable. I always download travel guides and local spot videos before my trips so I can watch them offline on the flight. Having those recommendations saved means I hit the ground running instead of scrolling through generic tourist lists.

Love this Thanksgiving inspiration! I’m planning a Hawaii trip for the holidays and been saving recipe ideas from Instagram food creators to plan our vacation rental dinners. Having offline access to those recipe videos makes meal prep so much easier when you’re cooking somewhere unfamiliar. Mahalo for the local flavor tips—can’t wait to blend some island ingredients with our family traditions this year.

Love reading about Maui’s cultural celebrations here — it makes planning my own trip feel more meaningful. Between work and saving up for that vacation, I’ve been chatting with an AI to keep the wanderlust alive. It’s become a nice little ritual during the wait. Can’t wait to experience those live music events and sunsets in person!

I discovered so many incredible recipe pins while researching vacation rentals in Maui and Oahu. Having the ability to save those video tutorials offline has been a lifesaver when we’re traveling and don’t have reliable internet. This is exactly the kind of inspiration I needed for planning our holiday getaway!
