Waipuilani Beach Condo Corridor
Waipuilani is a quiet, mile long beach that stretches from Waipuilani beach park at Maui Sunset to the south, to Kalepolepo Beach park at Menehune Shores to the north. It is the back yard to several oceanfront condos along the Waipuilani Beach corridor. The beach is sand and coral and the ocean has a shallow coral reef that keeps the waters inside the reef calm. While it is not a great swimming beach with the shallow coral pockets, once outside the reef, it is a great playground for local water sports.
It is one of the favored areas in Kihei for Kite surfing, stand up paddling, kayaking, surfing and fishing. It is also a treat to walk along the beach and search for unique coral and shells as you admire the beautiful scenery.
The Waipuilani condo corridor also enjoys oceanfront public tennis and pickleboard courts, large grassy oceanfront areas to play frisbee, puka boards, bocce ball, exercising, or just relaxing under the palm trees.
Menehune Shores Resort
At the north end of the corridor is Menehune Shores Resort. Its prime location is fronted by an ancient royal Hawaiian fishpond. Kō‘ie‘ie fish pond has stacked rocks around the perimeter which the turtles love to bathe and swim, and our keiki like to play in the shallow, protected waters.
Kalepolepo Beach park is on the north side of the complex with picnic tables, showers and a family favorite for young keiki.
The Whale Sanctuary is also near, as well as the Kihei Canoe Club, which kindly allows guests to join them on their morning outrigger canoe paddles.
Menehune Shores Resort is a 6 story, 154 unit complex with 1, 2, and 3 bedroom individually owned condos. Each unit has washer/dryers, free wi-fi, and fully stocked kitchens.
The unique horseshoe design of the building allows each unit to have spectacular ocean views from their private lanai.
The complex offers many on site amenities which include an oceanfront restaurant, a heated oceanside swimming pool with bbq grills, horseshoe, and a spectacular roof top barbeque area.
The large rooftop has 4 bbq grills, 10 picnic tables and an unobstructed 180 degree view of the sparkling pacific ocean. This area is a favorite amongst the residents and guests as the views include West Maui Mountains, neighbor islands, Haleakala, and the the long stretch of beach starting from the south side of the complex.
Menehune Shores is a popular, and well-maintained oceanfront complex for residents and vacation renters alike.
The Landscape of meticulous green grass, swaying palm trees, and tropical flowers abound in this gem along the shoreline of North Kihei beachfront.
