Pupukea (aka “God’s Country”) on Oahu’s North Shore

Located on the hills above Oahu’s North Shore, and nestled above Waimea Bay at 600ft elevation, Pupukea sits directly across from my favorite snorkeling and dive spot: “Shark’s Cove,” where you can get a glimpse of Hawaii’s own Humuhumunukunukuapua’a, our state fish,  not to mention my endless list of other colorful native fish and marine life, along with its exploratory underwater cool caves and crevices, on this spectacular nature preserve. But I’ll spare you the talk. Just experience it for yourself. Beautiful is an understatement, as is Pupukea.

Sitting above Kamehameha Highway,  filled with peace and tranquility, with most homes accompanying  acreage lots, including parcels of land still available for purchase. Experience the best, relatively easy hiking trails in Pupukea’s Forest Reserve with incredible views of the North Shore’s coastline, including famous surf breaks, from Off The Wall to Pipeline to Velzeyland. Learn about ancient Hawaiian history and visit Pu’u O Mahuka Heiau, sacred and peaceful (a registered National Historic Landmark), located just at the top of Pupukea Road sitting right above Waimea Bay, with a view too stunning to be forgotten.

These are just a few amongst many special places on the North Shore worth mentioning which makes this place so special.  Did I also tell you where you can get the best Spicy Ahi bowl ever? From the Pupukea Grill, the blue food truck across the street from Shark’s Cove on the furthest north end next to the old gas station. And don’t forget to order it with avocados…

This is my awesome Hawaii Life!
