Maunalua, Triangle, Koko Kai Community Association (MTKKCA) Potluck BBQ Fun!
What fills your heart? For me, it is helping people connect with one another, which builds lasting friendships, and there is nothing quite like seeing neighbors sharing stories, laughter, and quality time together.
For the past three years, residents of the MTKKCA have gathered annually at Koko Head Elementary School for delicious food and good company. This year, we had a record turnout with over 80 neighbors coming together to share the spirit of Aloha.
The potluck spread was incredible, featuring everything from hamburgers and manapua to fresh salads, veggie platters, and the irresistible aroma of warm malasadas. There were so many delicious choices!
Many thanks to Hawaii Life for helping to offset the cost for food, beverage and paper goods.
Here’s what some of the attendees had to say about our annual BBQ:
“This annual event brings people together and is the epitome of the aloha spirit we all share as friends and neighbors.” – David & Karl
“The third annual MTKKCA potluck and barbeque confirmed again what a great place this neighborhood is in which to live. Eighty neighbors bringing and sharing ono food on a Saturday afternoon is what community is all about. Many mahalos to residents Kim and Jay Soares who have been the driving force behind these wonderful community barbeques!”
– Jennifer Taylor, MTKKCA President
“On behalf of the Maunalua Triangle Koko Kai Community Association (mtkkca.org) Board of Directors, mahalo to Kim and Jay Soares for hosting the third annual Community Potluck BBQ. It was a wonderful afternoon, with over 80 neighbors getting to know each other over the excellent food. We look forward to continuing the tradition next year.” – Valorie Carpenter, Secretary & Newsletter/Outreach Chair
