Mauna Lani Condo Best Buys

A Mauna Lani Terrace unit has finally gone into escrow after 523 days on market! A 1 bed /2 bath ground floor unit of 1150 sq. ft. which was listed for $895,000 has become the first to break the streak.

Prior to this new contingent sale, the last Terrace unit to sell was in February of  2009; a 2 bed / 2 bath 2nd floor unit which had been on the market 391 days and eventually sold for $1,375.

Most of the owners of  The Terraces at Mauna Lani have owned since they were built in the mid 1980’s and are not under financial pressure to sell during our current distressed selling market. Therefore, they have maintained their values better than anything else along the coastal front.

You must know by now my feelings about the timelessness and quality of the Terraces and the Point at Mauna Lani. They hold their value not only because they are the only oceanfront condos in Mauna Lani, but also because they just feel good.

My choice for the next “best buy” in the Mauna Lani Resort would have to be two bedroom listed at $1,795,000 (MLS# 235538) .

A hui hou!

I LOVE Mauna Lani Terrace! While many buyers are distracted by the “new shiny penny”-type condos proliferating the resorts, those who really know and love the Big Island’s Kohala Coast can’t help but be mesmerized by these units. So quiet you can hear the waves crashing at night – even from a non-oceanfront unit. So beautiful to look out on the golf course that fades into the fishponds that melt into the ocean… All conveniently located next to one of the most historic, culturally-relevant resorts along the coast (The Mauna Lani hotel). Walk to Talk Story! How does it get better than this??

What’s NOT to love about the Mauna Lani?? The Terraces and point are ideally located. But I think the best thing about owning at Mauna Lani is the “Private Beach Club” for Homeowners, with the gated parking, restaurant/bar, beach service and direct access to the historical ponds. (Island Residents can also access from public right of way.) It is a magical location. Isn’t that rule #1, “location. location. location.”??

Pam pretty soon I think you will have every agent chiming in here. I, too, love the Mauna Lani Terrace Condo’s. They have great style. Great floorplans. And like Katie says, walkability. I love that you can walk to the beach, walk to restaurants and bars, walk to cultural events without ever seeing a car. Relaxed island living at its best.
