Maui Weekend Events – May 19

Aloha friends! It’s graduation week. Congratulations to all the graduates and family. The weekend kicks off Friday night with Beattles cover band the Lonely Hearts playing at Mulligan’s. Sugar Beach Events is hosting local favorite Movie Night Under the Stars. We also have the the Maui Brewer’s Festival returning live this year. The restaurant and brewery lineup is truly impressive. The Maui Classical Music Festival concludes this Sunday with a matinee at the Historic Iao Theater. Finally, the last Maui Paddling Hui race takes place this weekend taking off from Maliko.

Movie Night Under the Stars

Sugar Beach Events is hosting movie night under the stars this Saturday night. Doors open 6:30 and show starts at 7:30 pm. The feature will be Ratatouille.  Complimentary popcorn provided.  Food and drinks available for sale. This is such a great event to enjoy with friends and family. Bring your blanket and beach chairs and take in a movie seaside. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at fareharbor.

2023 Maui Brewer’s Festival

The Maui Brewers Festival is back this year! This is the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s main fundraising event and one of Maui’s top festivals. Lots of local restaurants and caterers as well as local and national craft breweries will be on site with delicious offerings. Live music also on the agenda for your enjoyment. This is a 21 and over event and takes place Saturday during the afternoon early evening. There are a few different ticket options including general admission, beer lovers and even a designated drivers option.

Maui Classical Music Festival

The Maui Classical Music Festival concludes this Sunday at the Historic Iao Theater. This final show of the festival starts at 5:00 pm and features:

L.V. Beethoven Serenade in D Major for Flute, Violin, and Viola, Op.25

Manuel de Falla Suite Populaire Espagnole for Cello and Piano

Johannes Brahms String Quintet No. 2 in G Major, Op.111

Doors open at 4:30. Please get there on time.  Late arrivals will be seated at manager’s discretion.

Lonely Hearts at Mulligan’s on the Blue

Beattles cover band the Lonely Hearts will be playing Mulligan’s on the Blue this Friday night. Show starts at 7:00 pm and is only $10 cover. This is sure to be a great time and tickets are going fast so be sure to lock in your spot sooner than later. Purchase tickets at Eventbrite.

Kai Wa’a Strong Maliko Race

The last Maui Paddling Hui race of the 2023 season takes place this Saturday. Kai Wa’a Strong Maliko Race starts at noon from Maliko. Check in starts at 10:00 am and race briefing at 11:30. Post race party at the Lae’Ula O Kai Canoe Club. I will be racing 2-man with my 12 year old son this year. Super excited to get out there this weekend.
