Maui Weekend Events – March 10

Aloha friends! This weekend takes you to Atlantis for Poseidon’s Ball benefiting Imua Family Services. The Maui Arts & Cultural Center brings you three great shows this weekend. Friday, reggae favorites Rebelution will play the Pavilion. Saturday, Henry Kapono’s Artist 2 Artist will take the stage at the McCoy Studio Theater. Lastly on Sunday, Maui Orchestra Pops – Spring Pops will feature Kalani Pe’a. Recurring events include Lahaina 2nd Friday Town Party and South Maui Gardens 2nd Saturday.

Atlantis – Poseidon’s Ball

This annual event is Imua Family Services’ biggest and most lavish fundraiser. Welcoming all gods, goddesses, demi-gods and merfolk to mingle with the sea creatures at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort in Kaanapali. The theme is Poseidon’s Ball in Atlantis and will dish up a feast of seafood and Mediterranean cuisine. Live music special performances featuring Ashley Loren for your entertainment. Event takes place this Saturday. Doors open at 6:50 pm and reception and registration begin at 5:30 pm. Local business can still join the list of sponsors to support for one of our most important community services for local families.

Rebelution at the MACC

Rebelution plays at the MACC’s Yokouchi Pavilion and A&B Amphitheater this Friday night. Gates open at 5:30 pm.  Show starts 7:00 pm. Food will be available for purchase in the events lawn from 5:30 – 10:00 pm. This is a general admission concert so no seats. These guys sell out shows all over the country and have had 5 back to back #1 records in the reggae category.

Artist 2 Artist with Henry Kapono

The Artist 2 Artist series continues at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center with a new Hawai`i Legends Edition. Playing at the McCoy Studio Theater this Saturday at 7:30 pm. Henry welcomes his special guests each night who will offer a combination of talk-story followed by a live jam session. This Saturday, Henry hosts slack key master and singer Keola Beamer. Show also features Moanalani Beamer and special guest Andrew Molina.

Maui Pops Orchestra – Spring Pops

This month’s Maui Orchestra Pops features 3 time Grammy Winner Kalani Pe’a. Show time is Sunday afternoon, 3:00 pm, at the Castle Theater. Kalani describes his style as “Hawaiian contemporary soul.” Show will feature a variety of musical styles including some of his original compositions.

Lahaina 2nd Friday Town Party

Maui Friday Town Parties bring the community together for a pau hana night of music, art, food, and Maui culture.  Friday night is Art Night in Lahaina every week. Each Friday from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm, enjoy special gallery shows, featured artist-in-action and refreshments as you stroll through dozens of art galleries. Lahaina is dubbed “The Art Capital of the Pacific” because it has more art galleries per capita than any other American town. 2nd Friday brings additional local vendors to the party.

Maui Gardens 2nd Saturday

South Maui Gardens – Hidden Oasis of Kihei hosts a community party every second Saturday of the month. This is a BYOB event and features eight local favorite food trucks. Also on deck is our local Reggae Ambassador Marty Dread with live music and dancing from 6 – 8 pm.
