Maui Weekend Events – June 23

Aloha friends! We are officially in summer season now. This summer weekend on Maui brings lots of music, regatta race and the beginning of the Makawao Stampede Festival. The 4th race of Regatta Season takes place this Saturday morning. Hawaii’s own Rebel Souljahz kick off the weekend with a concert at the MACC this Saturday. The Slack Key Guitar Festival closes out the weekend on Sunday. Finally the always anticipated Makawao Stampede Festival kicks off this weekend with the Makawao Parade this Saturday.

John M. Lake Regatta

Saturday’s John M. Lake Race is hosted by Hawaiian Canoe Club and takes off from Kahului Harbor at 8:00 am. This will be an all-day event with races, food and community. Check out Hawaiian Canoe Club for Race Schedule and more.

Rebel Souljahz Featuring Katchafire

move with love

Hawaii’s own Rebel Souljahz will be playing the MACC’s Yokouchi Pavilion and A&B Amphitheater this Friday night. Show starts at 5:30 and gates open at 5:00 pm. This show celebrates the release of Rebel Soujahz’ 5th album, Move with Love. Food and beverage available for purchase from 5:00 – 10:00 pm.

32nd Annual Ki Ho’alu Guitar Festival

The 32nd Annual Ki Ho’alu Festival will feature some of Hawaii’s best slack key musicians. Some of the featured artists this year include Darrell Aquino, Kevin Brown, John Cruz, Stephen Inglis, Kawika Kahiapo, Kamuela Kahoano, Dwight Kanae, Chris Lau, Makana, Paul Togioka and more! Festival takes place this Sunday afternoon at the MACC’s Yokouchi Pavilion and A&B Amphitheater. Gates open at 2:30 and show starts at 3:00 pm. This is a free event. Festival will be livestreamed on the MACC’s FB page and YouTube Channel. Local artists will be on site showcasing their crafts for purchase. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and set up on the hill to enjoy the music to the most.  Food and beverage available for purchase throughout the event.

Makawao Parade and Country Concert

The Makawao Parade opens the weeklong Makawao Stampede Festival this Saturday morning. The Parade starts at 9:00 am through the historic Makawao town and ends at the Oskie Rice Event Center. Doors open at 10 am and concert starts at 1:00 pm. Vendors with crafts and food onsite for purchase throughout the festivities. Tickets on sale for $30 general admission. Discounts available for keiki and kupuna and there is a VIP option as well.
