Aloha friends! This weekend on Maui has a little something for everyone—local shopping in Kihei, live music, candlelit concerts, a big island-style celebration, and long-distance canoe racing on the water. Whether you are looking for a relaxed Friday outing, a memorable night of music, or a way to support local makers and community events, here are a few happenings worth adding to your weekend plans.

Shop local and support Maui makers at the Friday Local Vendor Pop-Up at the South Maui Gardens from 9 am – 1 pm. The Grand Wailea is hosting two shows this Sunday night. Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer starts at 6:30 pm. Candlelight: Coldplay vs Imagine Dragons starts at 8:45 pm. It’s a beautiful way to wrap up the weekend with music, ambiance, and a memorable night out in Wailea.

Ekolu brings Maui Ekolulauleʻa 2026 to Kihei Charter School on Sunday from 3 – 9 pm, with show starting at 4 p.m. The island-style celebration promises music, food, and fun with Ekolu and friends, bringing the community together for a lively evening in Kihei. Get tickets and more info.

MCHCA Long Distance Season

Long Distance Season is underway, and this week the open-ocean action continues Saturday with the Kihei-hosted MCHCA distance race listed as TBD on the current schedule. Maui crews are deep into endurance season now, trading regatta sprints for longer courses, open-ocean conditions, and the steady team rhythm that defines distance paddling. Check out Hawaiian Canoe Club for the Race Schedule and more.

Anything Else This Weekend or Next?

I am always looking to promote other weekend activities for Maui organizations. If we are missing anything, drop me a line any time for future happenings. Mahalo!!!

Real Estate

Market Update

Uncertainty continues with Real Estate as non-residential owners are beginning to look elsewhere and regulations are hastening the process for them. Savvy Buyers have been identifying and scooping these opportunities. Will you be ready to buy? Many buyers are getting prequalified for loans now in anticipation of the market improving.  Investors are refinancing to use equity lines to make cash offers which appeal to Sellers in multiple offer situations or using 1031 funds that have to be earmarked for real estate purchases. I love having 1031 Buyers on my clients’ listings. Have questions to help you prepare?  Let’s get our checklist together.

Latest Maui Figures

As of August 20th, Maui County has 249 pending transactions and 1630 active for 13.2%.  We’ve held over 12 since the last update. Hopefully, we will be able to stick the 13’s and continue to increase this figure.

Hot Listings

I have been busy working on a project that will be coming to market soon. 20 acres of ocean view organic farmland in Waiehu! I’m so excited to share Kuawa Olu with you all. Stay tuned!

If Kuawa Ola isn’t for you, here are 2 nearby listing that we at Hawaii Life also represent.  MLS 407206 on Malaihi Road shares a neighbor and the same water flume that travels to Kihei from Waihe’e. This property has multiple rentals for income from 6 homes for over $11,000 and totals 34.7 acres for $2.75 million.  As we discussed, this Seller (as many do) wants to see proof of funds from any buyer for showings.

Want closer to the beach? Lower Waiehu Beach Road has MLS 406777. 5-bedroom home with 2-bedroom ohana across street from the ocean. Great 2 story home has been a successful investment property. It would also be a great owner-occupied home offering easy beach access for nearby surfing, fishing, strolls. Close to everything in town. It’s a great area.

I am here to go over latest figures and discuss your plans for Real Estate on Maui.
