Maui Weekend Events – July 14

Aloha friends! We have some fun offerings on the agenda this weekend. The last race before Maui County Championships takes place this Saturday out of Hanakao’o Beach Park. Spend the day on Sunday at the Coffee Festival at the Maui Tropical Plantation. Mala Tavern is upleveling their Mala ‘til Midnight this Friday night with a DJ and Wine Tasting. Recurring events include Lahaina 2nd Saturday town party. Ongoing is the Maui Film Festival Speed of Light Virtual Cinema.

Saturday’s Kamehameha Race is hosted by Lahaina Canoe Club and takes off from Hanakao’o Beach Park at 8:00 am. This will be an all-day event with races, food and community. Check out Hawaiian Canoe Club for Race Schedule and more.

2023 Seed to Cup Coffee Festival

The Seed to Cup Coffee Festival takes place Sunday from 9 am – 4 pm at the Maui Tropical Plantation. It is a free event. There is a coffee tasting class offered during the day that requires registration and payment. Day starts with blessing. Food available all day from Merienda Maui Food truck serving Filipino and Pan Asian cuisine. The Mill House will also be offering a special lunch menu from 11 am – 3 pm. Music throughout the day including Zen Shin Daiko Drummers. Mocktail coffee recipes and presentation by Mala Ocean Tavern.  The highlight of the event is the Barista Throwdown. This is a free pour art competition.

For late night dining and entertainment, Mala Tavern presents Mala ’til Midnight. Mala ‘til Midnight offers a special late-night menu on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 pm – 12:00 am. Saturday is also Ladies’ Night.   ‘Aipono Award winner for best late-night dining 2022 will not disappoint. The menu has a lot of unique and tasty items as well as arguably the best burger on Maui. Do not skip the Oyster shooters! The menu also features several delicious craft cocktails worth trying for yourself.

Coinciding with Mala ‘til Midnight this Friday night is Ocean Front Wine & Vinyl. DJ TimDawg will be spinning. A selection of House of Smith will be available in 2 oz tasters or by the glass. Additionally, house sommelier will be on hand to answer questions.

Lahaina 2nd Friday Town Party

Maui Friday Town Parties bring the community together for a pau hana night of music, art, food, and Maui culture.  Friday night is Art Night in Lahaina every week. Each Friday from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm, enjoy special gallery shows, featured artist-in-action and refreshments as you stroll through dozens of art galleries. Lahaina is dubbed “The Art Capital of the Pacific” because it has more art galleries per capita than any other American town. 2nd Friday brings additional local vendors to the party. 2023 Maui Film Festival: Speed of Light Virtual Cinema

The Maui Film Festival is going virtual this year with 50+ film premiers. Watch from your couch in your jammies with your favorite snacks. All shorts and feature films are Maui Premieres from around the world. This year’s films highlight politically, culturally, and socially relevant films.
