Maui Weekend and Where to Watch the Super Bowl

Aloha friends! The highlight this weekend is the Super Bowl. I will share a few options if you are not watching at home or haven’t made a plan yet. Besides the Super Bowl, SOJA is also playing the MACC this Friday night. Recurring events include Lahaina 2nd Friday Town Party and South Maui Gardens 2nd Saturday.

Super Bowl Sunday

Mulligans on the Blue

Mulligan’s is my favorite place to catch a game on the South Side. They are open early on Super Bowl Sunday at 10:00 am featuring their regular menu with all your favorite bar comfort foods. Bar seats are all reserved already.  They are still taking reservations for table service. Reservations highly recommended as they are expecting to fill for the day.

Gilligan’s Bar and Grill

Gilligan’s Bar and Grill is starting the party early by bringing back the breakfast menu for Super Bowl Sunday. They have several TV’s inside as well as outside on the lanai guaranteeing a great view. Breakfast will start at 9:00 am and include favorites like loco moco, country platter, eggs benedict, French toast and more. Regular lunch and happy hour menus will follow along with game day inspired food and drink specials. No cover charge.

MACC

The MACC is showing The Big Game both indoors in vivid HD on the huge screen in the Castle Theater and outside in the Pavilion on a high-tech LED screen. No coolers, outside food/beverages or tailgating permitted. However, hot and cold beverages available in the courtyard before and during the game. Food trucks will also be on hand with snacks, pupus, lunches and desserts. Asian Blend will be performing before and after the game. Gates open at noon. This is a free event. No tickets or reservations required.

Kahului Ale House

Boasting 69 High Definition TV’s and 5 zones of sound, the Kahului Ale House is a great choice to catch the big game. They will be offering their full extensive menu. They are not charging a cover for this event; however, reservations are highly recommended as they expect to fill up fast.

Lahaina Sports Bar

The Lahaina Sports Bar is the obvious choice on the West Side. They do a special breakfast every Football Sunday.  The game will be shown on 20 TVs and a 180” projector. Lots of tasty options to choose from on the menu from snacks, pupus and small plates to large plates. Reservations are recommended and there is a $50 cover charge.

Stopwatch Bar & Grill

For Upcountry game viewing, head to Stopwatch Bar & Grill. This is a local favorite on any day of the week but especially for games. They will be serving their full menu with all your favorites along with some game day specials and hosting games and festivities to celebrate the big game. They will open the doors at 11:00 am and are not taking reservations so get there early to get a good spot.

As a Reminder – Kula I’o
