Maile’s Mixed Plate – Big Island Farmers Markets

Our islands food can have such wonderful flavors. We fuse our ethnic backgrounds to create some of the most tasty recipes. Our produce is as fresh and abundant as the smiles on our Kamaaina’s and Malahini’s faces.

The local farmers at the market are happy to help you identify some of our exotic vegetables and fruits. You will even find fresh, handmade honey, goat cheese, and handcrafted items. Please take the time to visit the many markets here on the Big Island and support our local farmers and our local economy.

There are many farmers markets island wide. Here is a link for you to scroll through to find the market closest to you. A Hui Ho!

I must agree. Here on Kauaʻi, you can attend a different farmers market alomst every day of the week. It’s so nice that we can now get items like honey, goat cheese or even the occasional container of fresh poi at the local farmers market. Its a great way to buy fresh food and support our island economies.
