Have you been wondering when the new Kauai Safeway will open? Starting on Friday, September 18, the convenience of having a 24-hour grocery store will take shopping to a new level for residents in the Lihue and Poipu areas. In approximately 2 weeks, Kauai’s 2nd Safeway store will open at the Hokulei Village shopping center in Lihue. This shopping center, at the corner of Kaumuali’i Highway and Nuhou Street, will be the newest and largest retail development on Kauai. Safeway tenants will also include Starbucks and Bank of Hawaii.
Other tenants already open in the shopping complex include Jack In The Box, Petco, and Supercuts. Business signs on “under construction” shop windows include Panda Express, Uncle’s Shave Ice, and Verizon.
