The developer at Honua Kai has just recently released the last one bedroom unit for sale. Konea 148, a ground floor one bed/one bath unit of 780 sq.ft. has recently been released at $850,000.

This property is not actively listed on the MLS but I am very familiar with the property having been in it several times and being an owner at Honua Kai myself.

What Makes Konea 148 Special?

  1. Accessibility – Ground floor units are not for everyone but many people with kids really love the convenience of being able to have the kids run around outside on the grassy area, and easy access out to the pool and beach.
  2. Strong rental income – The smaller units at Honua Kai have some of the best cash on cash returns of any real estate in the entire state of Hawaii and the ground floor units at Honua Kai do particularly well. I have seen rental income statements from comparable units where the gross rental income exceeds $90,000.
  3. Great location – This particular property is located one stack back from the front of the building, meaning that it is steps away from the pools, BBQ area, and most importantly, the golden beach that fronts Honua Kai and the inviting Pacific Ocean. This particular location is very private with little walk-through traffic, and the area is heavily shaded during the majority of the day and gets nice trade wind exposure to help keep it very comfortable without the A/C.
  4. Spacious unit w/ high ceilings – This particular unit has 11-foot ceilings and 780 sq.ft. of interior living area, which makes it the largest one bedroom floor plan at Honua Kai.

My wife, Megan, and I were just down in front of Honua Kai on our SUP boards yesterday evening as the water was flat and the sunset was amazing, this was the intial run with our GoPro camera and I forgot that I needed to wipe the water off the lens…stay tuned for much improved photos.
