Kona Condo Sales For 2011
Last year was a good year for Kona sales numbers for condos with a total of 325 condos sold in 2011. This number was up from 307 condos sold in 2010. However, the price tag on these sales dropped in 2011 to a median price of just $170,000 down from the previous number of $219,000 in 2010.
Kona Condo Sales For 2012
So, how are condo sales so far this year? Looking at January sales, there was a total of 21 condos sold at an average sales price of $191,055 – up from 2011’s price.
The range in sales prices for Kona can run quite wide, starting at leasehold studio condos and going up to luxury resort condos at Hualalai. In January, the lowest priced condo was $23,000 for a studio in Kona West, while the high-end price went to a Villas at Keauhou Estates with a sales price of $748,500.

As you can see, distressed property sales – for either short sales or bank owned condos – was about 50% of the total sales coming in with 11 sales.
