I have written often about one of my favorite Hawi neighborhoods, Maliu Ridge. Just a couple of miles up the hill from the town center, the lots are 1-3 acres and most of the homes have ocean views. I recently listed a home in Maliu Ridge that received multiple offers out of the starting gate. It closed this week for over asking price.

Last year I listed a plantation vintage home on Beers Road that also sold over asking price. The rural Beers Road is not a part of the Maliu Ridge subdivision, but Maliu Ridge literally wraps around it so the elevation is similar, but some of the lot sizes are larger and there are no CC&Rs. The new listing on Beers Road comes with an established mac nut orchard and beautiful tropical plantings. The home is 2 bedrooms and an office, on 8.5 acres with a garage/storage barn, asking $1,200,000. Built by a well-known contractor for his own family before he became a big deal, the construction is terrific.
