Hilo, Big Island Horse Property for Sale

There is one new listing of an equestrian-ready property since I last wrote about Big Island horse property for sale. This ocean view 6.74-acre property has a 2,692 sq ft home, plus a barn and riding arena. Just for the sake of clarity — this is not a Hawaii Life listing, just one I am featuring as suitable for horse owners.

Equestrian property for sale in Hilo is ready for your horses or horse program. The home looks out at the riding arena and ocean view.

Before I talk about horses and horse facilities, the home on the property was built in 2006. It has 3 bedrooms, 3-1/2 baths with an open floorplan and 876 sq ft of lanai looking towards the pasture, riding arena and ocean view. I own a home in Hilo near this one, and love the country quiet in proximity to town and the cooler elevation. New owners will appreciate the fireplace on cool evenings.

The home is on County water, has cable for TV and high-speed internet and a 48-panel photovoltaic system to save on your electric bills.

The compact equestrian facilities include a 90ʻ X 120′ riding arena with red cinder footing (typical footing used for Big Island arenas rather than sand), round pen, and a barn with spacious tack room and easy access to shelter from the paddocks.

I met the sellers years ago when I sponsored a natural horsemanship clinic. We had parallel journeys from natural horsemanship with our own horses, to training in equine assisted or guided learning and healing techniques. For over a decade, through their non-profit they ran a very successful and beloved set of equine-assisted programs serving youth and veterans in particular. Most of their herd members were donated specifically for these programs.

This Hilo horse property has a special place in my heart – and I would love to introduce it to its next happy owners and their horses!
