Property Management in Hawaii Gets an Upgrade

Hawaii Life is thrilled to announce an entirely new facet of our business: Property Management.

For years, we looked at property management companies and thought “What If?”

  • What if we applied the same intense focus on exposure and marketing as we do in real estate sales to Property Management?
  • What if we were able to generate massive amounts of traffic and bookings for a few quality homes?
  • What if owners didn’t have to worry about their houses, or their property manager?

We’ve had plenty of opportunities to answer these questions. When we merged with Hanalei North Shore Properties last year, we had an incredible opportunity to take over of Kauai’s oldest and most successful property management companies. But, we weren’t ready. We hadn’t answered these questions for ourselves. Since then, we’ve developed software, technology and relationships that would be any property manager’s dream. That’s when we heard from Kahealani (Kahea) Zietz…

Kahealani Zietz, RA

Kahea has been in property management on Kauai for eight years. She’s turned what is usually a thankless job into an experience that leaves her owners and guests feeling fulfilled and cared for. At Hawaii Life we always say “Smart Marketing. Solid Representation”. There’s no doubt in our mind that Kahea brings the Solid Representation.

Kahea came from another company. When Kahea’s former clients found out (from the “coconut wireless”) that she was working with Hawaii Life… we got an onslaught of phone calls and e-mails from owners who want to work with her, and they’re still pouring in. Hawaii is a relationship culture. People want to work with someone they know and trust.

We’re thrilled to finally have a relationship with a Property Manager who can help bring Hawaii Life’s innovation to an area of our industry that has been sorely overlooked. Kahea can be reached at 808-651-4440 or at kahea@hawaiilife.com. Stay tuned for more exciting news. We’re approaching Property Management the same way we have real estate sales, by starting with “Why?”.

We interviewed several people over the years for this position. All of those interviews went on for weeks, and sometimes months. In the end, we held off for many reasons: inexperience, lack of leadership, years held at previous position. There was just nobody we trusted to represent and care for our client’s properties. After all, this is a huge responsibility to manage a person’s multi million dollar asset who lives thousands of miles away.

When Kahea became available, the interview process lasted roughly 10 minutes. With her reputation, experience, and loyalty, we knew we wanted Kahea on the team.

Thanks Carl, we’re thrilled, too. I had no idea there was such a void in Property Management and Vacation Rentals. We (i.e. Kahea) have been slammed with inquiries. It’s exciting.
