A couple of years ago I wrote a blog post about Big Island properties with waterfalls, natural or otherwise. One of those properties is for sale again; several new listings with waterfalls are on the market. So hereʻs an update on your options.

Properties for Sale in Hamakua, Hawaii Islandʻs Waterfall Coast
If you are looking for waterfalls on the drier of the Hawaiian Islands, look to the north shores: think of the drive along the road to Hana on Maui, and the Hamakua Coast on Hawaii Island.
The most luxurious current listing with a natural waterfall cascading into the Pacific Ocean is the Waterfalling Estate, a self-contained resort property with over the top amenities (helicopter landing pad, Olympic size swimming pool) befitting its spectacular cliffside location. In use as a luxury vacation rental with a celebrity guest list, its asking price is $8,888,888.

Another Hamakua Coast residence on 20 acres is sited along a stream with a more gentle waterfall and swimming hole. The property includes a 4-bedroom plantation-style main residence of 3,228 sq. ft. and a barn-style cottage of 1600 sq. ft. with total privacy from the main home. Also in use as a vacation rental, a new owner has an option to continue, even with pending changes in County policy. With ocean and mountain views, the asking price is only $1,349,000.

North Kohala District – Waterfalls and Gulches
One will also find waterfalls in the gulches along the northwest tip of the island, the district of North Kohala. Currently, there is a property listed that is nestled into a gulch accessed by a long easement driveway from Akoni Pule Highway. From the home, one sees and hears a waterfall, although the waterfall itself is not on the property, so no maintenance or liability.

The waterfall itself is on the 93 acre Kapanaʻia property slated for open space purchase by Hawaii County (MLS 272634).
And if none of the homes with waterfalls appeals to you, there is still the 485 acre ranch or farm parcel with five of them and beautiful ocean and mountain views. You could build several homes on this legacy land listing, which is currently being subdivided into two parcels.

I keep my eyes open for properties for sale with waterfalls. There are also several active listings on other islands if the Big Island is not your favorite.

Beth we spoke earlier. My client is actually looking for a property with a huge waterfall with vast amount of water supply. As I am new in Maui, I will appreciate ot if you can give me some information what could be best advised.
