An Unexpected Place To Find A Good Deal on an Ocean View Luxury Condo in Wailea

I’m excited to post this blog about a great condo unit that I saw on Broker’s Caravan the other day. What is even more intriguing about this listing is that it is located directly above Hawaii Life’s new Wailea office at the Wailea Town Center. The complex was designed for mixed use, with 7 residential units above commercial spaces, all tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Wailea.

161 Wailea Ike Place (MLS# 348456) unit C203 is listed at $1,175,000. Before I talk about the unit, I’d like to mention the amazing Lanai, Maalaea Bay, and West Maui views.

The unit is a spacious 1,910 square feet consisting of 3 bedrooms and 3 in-suite bathrooms. Rosewood floors run throughout the unit with a large patio off the living room. The double glazed low-e windows and multi-zoned air conditioner will make afternoon sunsets more comfortable inside the unit.

The gourmet chef’s kitchen includes cherry shaker-style cabinetry, hand cast glass tile back-splash, and Kitchen-Aid appliances, including a gas burning 5 burner cook-top.

I mentioned earlier that all 3 bedrooms have in-suite bathrooms, which include Grohe fixtures and rain shower heads, an on-demand hot water heater, and granite. The unit has a private, single car enclosed garage and an additional deeded parking space. A private elevator is shared with 3 other units and you are but a mere walk to world-class golf, tennis, restaurants, and the Shops at Wailea.

Now, this is why I think this unit is such a good deal; a search for all active listings of 3 bedrooms in the Wailea area gave me the following results:

  • Lowest priced—Grand Champions 1,383 square feet, listed at $645,000
  • Highest priced—Wailea Point 2,529 square feet, listed at $6,950,000
  • Median:  $2,225,000  Average:  $2,338,378

A search for all active listings in the 1,800-2,000 square foot range (subject is 1,910) gave me the following results:

  • Lowest priced—Kai Malu 1,852 square feet, listed at $899,000
  • Highest priced—Wailea Beach Villas 1,961 square feet, listed at $4,199,000
  • Median:  $2,325,000  Average:  $2,451,461

Most of the higher priced units are beachfront, but if you don’t need the sand at your feet, I think this unit at the Wailea Town Center may be a good buy for you. Contact me for further information.

Hi Kevin, I was browsing through some of your posts and this caught my eye. This is a great deal – beautiful home with an excellent view! Was this sold or is this still in the market? As I am starting to use Twitter a lot, I would like to help the realtors but tweeting some of their/your blog posts. I thought this post is a good one to share. Let me know if it’s still on the market and I’d tweet a link to your post 🙂
