Gino Castano Designs a Fresh Look For Kukuiula’s Plantation House on Kauai

Gino Castano, co-founder of the San Francisco-based interior design firm Paletteur, has designed a fresh look for the Great Room of Kukui’ula’s Plantation House here on Kauai. “Even though my references are from all over the world,” says Gino, “I always start my design process locally. I want my designs to have a strong sense of history and place and to resonate with the people who live and work there.”

The ha of Kukui’ula is the Plantation House where families gather, dine, swim, savor sunsets and starry nights. The 20,000 sqft private clubhouse, overlooking Kukui’ula Bay, was designed by Don Ziebell, founder of OZ Architects Inc of Scottsdale, and was completed in 2011.

I am interested in some acreage on the south shore of Kauai. North shore too wet. I want to build my own house (am a contractor in Honolulu for many years). Don’t know if I can afford what you have for sale, but let’s take a look. I will not give my budget or size, at this time, let’s just see what is available.
