Experience Mānoa Valley

Manoa Valley, located within minutes of Waikiki and downtown Honolulu by bus or car, is a secluded corner of Oahu towered by the majestic Koolau Mountain Range and one of Honolulu’s most favored residential communities. Known for its lush, tropical vegetation, the valley receives almost daily rain, even during the dry season, and is thus richly vegetated – though the valley walls are often dry. Seeing colorful rainbows in the valley is a common occurrence!

Manoa Valley Community

The neighborhood is composed of private homes, many built before the 1960s, with some retaining their historic architecture and others beautifully remodeled in harmony with Mānoa’s natural beauty. Many of these homes and low-rise condominiums boast magnificent valley, ocean, and city views. Depending on what side of the valley you live on, the sunrise and sunset views are spectacular! The residents of Mānoa are made up of many cultures and ages, making this diverse community alive — as well as peaceful.

Schools in Manoa

This beautiful community is also home to the University of Hawaii at Manoa, the flagship campus of the University of Hawaii System, enhancing this residential community into a true university town, full of life and activity. Other campuses in Mānoa include Manoa Elementary School, Noelani Elementary School, Mid-Pacific Institute, Punahou School, and many creative, nurturing Pre-Schools.

Walkable Neighborhood

The neighborhood is easily walkable. Manoa Marketplace offers a wide variety of shops, restaurants, medical and financial services, and a farmers’ market complete with local fruits and vegetables, homemade baked goods, and local artists’ work. A local favorite is Off the Hook; don’t let that long line discourage you. It is worth the wait for some of the best poke on Oahu!

Hiking in Manoa Valley

For the hiking enthusiasts, there are 10 hiking trails in and near Manoa Valley, including Manoa Falls, a rigorous, muddy hike that rewards you with a breathtaking waterfall, cascading 150 feet down the mountainside.

Ready to Call this Gorgeous Valley Your Home?

As a resident of Manoa Valley for 20+ years, it is truly wonderful. Properties in Manoa don’t turn over as much as some other neighborhoods on Oahu. From a financial investment, over the last 10 years property values here have more than doubled, making it one of the priciest areas on Oahu and proving that Manoa will continue to be a neighborhood of value. If you are thinking of selling, take note!

With properties currently flying off the market at rapid speed due to extremely low inventory, you’ll need professional help to be on the lookout for the perfect piece of paradise in Manoa Valley. Contact me when you’re ready to buy or sell. I’m here to help — and I know the neighborhood.

In the meantime take a look at this beauty I recently listed, located in a private gated community “Manoa Shangri-la“. The name says it all!

Aloha ~ Gina
