A Quality, Custom Home Nestled in the Historic Equestrian Community of Pu’uanahulu at Puu Lani Ranch

This custom home in Puu Lani Ranch (MLS# 253254) has all the features of a quality contemporary style home in a private gated community with so much more! Virtual Tour of Custom Home in Puu Lani Ranch.

About Puu Lani Ranch

As you reach the gates of Puu Lani Ranch, you get a sense of peace and tranquility that gives you the feeling of being “home.” Located in the historic community of Pu’uanahulu, between Kailua-Kona and Waikoloa Village, this area was once prided lands of Hawaiian royalty, and then became a well-known cattle ranch. Now, horses and horse lovers get to take advantage of this expansive country terrain, appreciating gorgeous views of Pu’uwa’awa’a and beyond.

71-1437 Puu Kamanu Ln.

This custom home was built as a dream home for the contractor-owner and his family. The attention-to-detail that you will notice as you meander through the home are sure signs that he paid careful attention to privacy, comfort, and making good use of space.

As you approach the covered entryway, you are greeted by two large koa doors that create a formal entrance and a feeling of grandeur as you enter this lovely home. The resort-like feeling gives you a sense of royalty and enhances your appreciation as you enjoy the quality lifestyle that so many owners and guests love about being in this private country setting.

The Kitchen

The spacious dwelling areas in the kitchen, formal dining area, informal dining area, and living areas make it easy to entertain guests and family. The central sound system, high ceilings, and home insulation in both exterior and interior walls (except the pantry) create an ambiance of privacy and comfort in every room, where you can be entertaining in the main living areas while the bedrooms will be serene and peaceful.

The Koa custom cabinets and slabs of rich granite counter tops throughout the home give you a feeling of wealth and abundance as the natural wood and stonework bring with it their own elements that enhance your quality of life.

The Spacious Living Areas

Spacious living areas and large diamond-set tile adorn the hallways, walkways, and dwelling places, and the 11 large Ohia posts featured here in the entryway, and out on the lanai, give you a sense of having a solid foundation as you appreciate this home. Easy care is given as well with convenient central vacuum system throughout and lots of storage spaces.

Bring clients and guests home to enjoy a relaxing dinner and visit in the large family room, as the sounds of nature outside and soft music from the central sound system echo throughout the home.

The Private Suite

Retreat to your own private suite when ready and enjoy soaking in this jetted tub or shower built for two. You’ll see the quality craftsmanship throughout as the owner planned this home for himself and added fine details that you will be surprised to find while appreciating your experience.

Mornings are breathtaking here at Puu Lani Ranch and this master suite has a view of Pu’uwa’awa’a Mountain from the bedroom. Sip coffee on the lanai and listen to the birds awaken from their slumber as you enjoy the daily dawn. The walk-in closet has an automatic light that comes on as you open the door, so you never have to feel for the switch when getting ready for your activities – day or night.

The Landscaping

Walk outside from your lanai to appreciate the Jacoranda in bloom and mature landscapes of this gorgeous country setting. Afternoons and sunsets create a golden hue that help you to relax and enjoy the quality lifestyle that Puu Lani Ranch is known and loved for.

Amenities and Equestrian Facilities

For those who love to entertain large gatherings, Puu Lani Ranch offers spacious amenities and equestrian facilities that may supersede your expectations! The Puu Lani Clubhouse is equipped with lodge style furnishings, a kitchen, bar area, lots of places to dwell and gather, and even a fireplace for those cooler evenings.

I attended a ladies weekend here with owners who lived on the bluff and we had a fabulous time! Many of us gathered near the fireplace, and during the day we met with beauty consultants and massage therapists who pampered us and made us feel like goddesses! Just being in this environment did wonders for our self-esteem, and the beauty treatments we had gave us the feeling of being royalty…what an amazing experience it was!

A good friend of mine, Greg Low, is one of the on-site maintenance managers of Puu Lani Ranch and he keeps the place neat and tidy at all times! Understanding the interests of the community, he saw a need to convert one of the tennis courts into a basketball court, so more people could enjoy the facilities. Now, families can enjoy playing basketball, as well as tennis and horseback riding.

Some of the homes are also used as vacation rentals, so guests can enjoy walks in the neighborhood, as well as use of the amenities, which also include a fitness room, meeting rooms, a BBQ area overlooking the courts, and miles of horse trails! Leaving things in better order than when you entered are key components to keeping values high and continuing the use of these immaculate facilities.

Most of the equipment in the fitness room was donated by the owners, which shows how much they care about the community and sharing the wealth and enjoyment of it.

The meeting rooms, fitness room, and restrooms are located in this building, which is separate from the clubhouse, and nestled beyond the horse corral, and between the two stables. Here, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the area as the tower lanai and rooftop lanai offer expansive views of the corral, clubhouse, stables, and beyond.

Entertain family and guests while watching the horses in the corral will be a treat for the equestrian lovers. Picturesque views with Pu’uwa’awa’a in the background help to make these moments of enjoyment memories to cherish!

I’ve fallen in love with this quiet country community and hope that you will too! Please call me anytime, and I would be happy to show you around! Springtime at Puu Lani Ranch offers gorgeous lavender sprays of Jacoranda that will take your breath away!

Come and experience the quality lifestyle at Puu Lani Ranch, and see what country living at its finest is like!

I really like the detailed description you gave about the amenities in THIS post, Claire. I always start my tour with the amenities when I’m showing Puu Lani Ranch, because I think the homes are secondary to the lifestyle.

I agree Beth, good point. The amenities do help sell a property.. especially with the special Equestrian features at Puu Lani Ranch, plus the large Clubhouse facilities. I will make sure the agents who show this property have access to the Amenities as well. Thanks for that tip Beth!

I know he had an airplane and horses back then when the project was just beginning,. Iʻm sure this gentlemanʻs name is dominant in the history of the community. could you please give me the proper name of this person.
