Stunning Views: Sunrise to Sunset

Unit 3304 is a 1,065-square-foot residence facing east, north, and west, offering breathtaking views of Honolulu’s most iconic landmarks and natural beauty. Imagine starting your day with a serene sunrise beside Diamond Head and the Ala Wai Canal, enjoying rainbows during the day, and ending it with a spectacular sunset over the city and ocean. The unit’s large windows flood the space with natural light while keeping it relatively cool, as it is primarily north-facing. With no high-rise buildings obstructing the view, this unit offers excellent privacy and a panoramic perspective of the city. It’s a rare opportunity to experience both sunrise and sunset from the same home—a feature that truly sets this property apart.

This unit has been modified from its original 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom layout into a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom configuration, with one of the bedrooms further divided using drywall to create a flexible space that functions as a four-bedroom layout. Drywall is a material that can be easily removed, allowing the space to be adjusted or restored to its previous configuration if desired.

Flexible Mixed-Use Zoning

Century Center’s BMX-3 zoning allows for both residential and commercial activities. Whether you’re looking to create a cozy home, run a business, or combine the two, this property caters to diverse needs. Its prime location and zoning make it a compelling option for entrepreneurs seeking a live-work space or investors aiming to capitalize on Honolulu’s bustling market.

Building Amenities and Modernized Parking

Century Center provides a variety of amenities designed to support both residential and business needs including a 24/7 front desk with mail service, separate gyms for men and women with lockers, swimming pools, sauna, shower, laundry facility (though you do have a washer and dryer in the unit), outdoor BBQ area, jogging path, gated dog park, business conference room, a recreational room with a billiards table, and a designated smoking area. The fourth-floor outdoor space is particularly impressive, offering a big open space.

Parking is designed for convenience and security. This unit includes one reserved parking stall, where registered vehicles park for free. If an unregistered guest parks in the reserved stall, a flat $2 fee is charged for the entire day. Century Center has a total of 36 guest parking stalls, with rates starting at $3 per half-hour after a 15-minute grace period, up to a $35 daily maximum. Motorcycle and moped parking is available for $2 per day.

In 2023, a new parking system was introduced, using cameras to scan license plates at entry points and checkpoints, automatically tracking vehicle locations and applying the appropriate parking fees. Business owners can also purchase bulk parking validations at half price, allowing them to validate customer parking for 30 minutes at $1.50 each through an online system.

Convenient Location Near Waikiki and Ala Moana

Century Center is located in the heart of Honolulu, offering excellent accessibility. Within a one-mile radius, you’ll find Waikiki Beach, Ala Moana Beach Park, Ala Moana Shopping Center, Hawaii Convention Center, a 24/7 hospital, 24/7 Don Quijote, Palama Supermarket, and a variety of restaurants.

A Highly Noticeable Building in Honolulu

If you have ever driven through the Waikiki area, you cannot miss seeing Century Center. Due to the road structure, all westbound traffic from Waikiki must pass along Ala Wai Boulevard, a one-way street parallel to the Ala Wai Canal. As drivers navigate this scenic route, Century Center’s modern architecture and prominent presence make it a highly noticeable building in the cityscape. Government-Approved High-Density Development Area

Century Center is part of the City and County of Honolulu’s Transit-Oriented Development (T.O.D.) area for Ala Moana, the easternmost rail station closest to Waikiki. According to the August 2021 proposal Ala Moana T.O.D. Plan Adopted from the Honolulu.gov website, Century Center is in the “convention center subdistrict,” designated as High Density Commercial Mixed Use, surrounded by moderate density commercial mixed use and high to moderate density residential areas.

T.O.D. refers to compact, mixed-use development within a 0.25- to 0.5-mile (approximately 402 to 804 meters) radius of a rail station, with plans to improve the bicycle network, pedestrian paths, streetscape, and more. These enhancements could potentially benefit local residents and businesses by allowing properties in a T.O.D. area to be developed at much higher densities than before T.O.D. (source: T.O.D. Neighborhoods, T.O.D. Ala MoanaAla Moana T.O.D. Plan Adopted).

*I’ve marked Century Center’s location with a star below.

Right across the street from Century Center, the Hawaii Convention Center serves as the largest convention facility in the state, hosting international conferences, business expos, concerts, and major tournaments. With approximately 690 parking stalls, the convention center attracts a steady stream of professionals and visitors, reinforcing the area’s commercial activity.

Additionally, a new Chick-fil-A location is currently under development directly across from Century Center and the Hawaii Convention Center. Known for its meticulous site selection process, Chick-fil-A conducts extensive market research before opening new stores to ensure they are positioned in areas with sustained demand and economic vitality. The decision to establish a location here further underscores the area’s long-term commercial viability.
