Ace Hardware Now Open in Waikoloa Village!

Ace Hardware in Waikoloa Village is Open!

I never thought I’d be so happy to see a store open, but I am. After living in Waikoloa Village for five years and having the closest hardware store either be in Kona, a 35-minute drive, or in Waimea, which is about a 25-minute drive (give or take traffic), we were thrilled that an Ace was planned for the new shopping center. However, that new shopping center hadn’t even broken ground in 2018 and with Hawaii time, we knew it wasn’t going to open any time soon.  With the renovations we had planned for our condo and then our house, our trips to a hardware store meant we grabbed extra because we didn’t want to make that drive again.

Well, the day finally came (five years later) and Waikoloa Village has its very own Ace Hardware! So what else do you do on a Saturday except go to the new Ace? We made our coffee, showed up and fell in love. Ok, falling in love might be extreme but it is pretty amazing to now have an Ace in town. The workers were very friendly and also excited about the store opening. We took our time and went up and down each aisle, taking in all the items.

They had everything from bathroom supplies to kitchen utensils, dirt to grilling items, pet supplies, paint, garden tools and so much more. That store packed in such a variety of items in a small space. It’s not as large as the Ace in Kona or Waimea and there’s no craft section, but it holds SO many items that are used on a daily basis. We even had the paint department color match to a wood stain and it turned out amazing!

A selection of trim boards, dowel rods and 2x2s if you need something in a pinch.

Spray paint selection is a nice variety!

If you haven’t gone yet, go! What are you waiting for? It’s a great Ace, helpful employees and so close that you don’t feel bad making a couple trips there, even if it’s just to walk the aisles. The hours are Monday – Saturday 7am – 7pm and Sunday 7am – 6pm. Enjoy!

Looking to buy or sell?  I’d love to talk story with you!
