Our Giving Focus

HawaiiLifeCharitable Fund › Our Giving Focus

Each year, Hawai‘i Life agents and brokers collectively choose a giving focus for the Hawai‘i Love grant program. The HLCF Board of Directors makes grants available to eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations across the state whose programs align with both our mission and our giving focus for that calendar year.

Our 2024 Giving Focus is Mālama ‘Āina a me Ke Kai — Stewardship of our lands and oceans, including their flora and fauna, wildlife, and endangered species.

The Hawai‘i Life Charitable Fund’s 2024 Giving Focus, Mālama ‘Āina a me Ke Kai which translates to “Caring for the Land and the Sea”, is dedicated to the stewardship of our lands and oceans, emphasizing the protection and preservation of the diverse flora and fauna, wildlife, and endangered species. This initiative seeks to foster a deep connection with and responsibility for the natural beauty and biodiversity of Hawai‘i, ensuring its resilience and vitality for future generations.

In 2023, the HLCF focus will be on – Caring for our Keiki, elevating Hawaii’s children and at-risk youth with improved early development, education, and health care for their brighter futures.

In 2022, the HLCF will focus its fundraising efforts on Hawaiiana – Perpetuating the culture, traditions and history of our first ancestors who settled these Hawaiian Islands.
