Weekly Kona Rainbow Pick (WKRP) Kealakekua Bay

Amazing view of Captain Cook Monument across Kealakekua Bay

This week’s WKRP is a 3 bed/2 bath oceanfront beach house at Kealakekua Bay (MLS# 240923) priced at $2,225,000. It’s all about location, location, location! I was so enthralled with watching the snorkelers and adventurous kayakers entering the water that I never wanted to leave.

On this particular day, there were lots of Hawaiian Yellow Tang swimming very close to shore. What a beautiful sight to see the yellow glimmering near the water’s edge.

For those not familiar with this historic bay, this is the very spot that Captain James Cook, the British world explorer, lost his life in a dispute over a stolen cutter in 1779. The Captain Cook monument can be seen across the bay from this amazing property.

Kealakekua Bay is also known as one of the most spectacular spots to watch dolphins frolicking in the water. Early morning is the best time to catch their delightful display.

Not far from the shoreline, there are two palm trees that are situated such that I can just imagine lying in a hammock and taking in the beauty of this very special spot for days on end.

If you are looking for that very special beach house for your vacation, and/or second home getaways, look no further…This is IT!
