Courage Over Comfort
It’s been three months since East Oahu Realty joined forces with Hawaii Life, and this is what I know.
Change is hard. Learning new technologies and systems is challenging. Adapting to new processes takes time. And, saying good-bye to the old and embracing the new takes courage. Lots of courage. According to Dr. Brene Brown, “You can choose courage or you can choose comfort, but you cannot have both.”
Suffice it to say, the last three months have not been comfortable. They have required courage on the part of each and every staff member and agent. Courage to let go and courage to change. Our team has courage. We have stepped into the arena, and we have won. There is still a lot to learn, but the win comes from choosing courage over comfort. The win comes from choosing to stay the course, even when it isn’t always fun, fast or easy. The win comes from practicing our values and integrating who we were with who we are now as Hawaii Life.
Who we are now is a larger, more technologically savvy company. Who we are now is a company with broader reach, better systems and tools, a state-of-the-art design team, and a statewide and global presence. But, who we were is also who we are now. Our business practices haven’t changed. We still deliver on our promises, we stand on our commitment to service and excellence, and we walk with integrity. We are a group of seasoned professionals who make a difference in the lives of our customers, clients, and community. We dared to step out of our comfort zone, and we are better for it. We are Hawaii Life.
