Waikoloa Village Gem

If you are interested in purchasing a home on the Big Island of Hawai’i in Waikoloa Village, look no further. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath house could be yours. Priced at $525,000, it won’t last long.

68-3752 Kimo Nui St

Here is a virtual tour of the property  Music was created and produced by my talented husband. He’s the best.

Energy Efficient

This charming single level indoor/outdoor home is one level and has easy accessibility. No stairs to worry about, so each room flows right into the next. From the indoors to the outdoors, this home gives you a light and airy feel with two enclosed lanais for added space. The original owner built this home with energy efficiency in mind.  A central air conditioning unit and solar/photovoltaic system are added features. The solar hot water and low-flush toilets are also an efficiency bonus. The solar is currently being leased from HELCO and is transferable after the sale of the home.

Landscape

Situated on 10,625 square feet of land, this property has potential for your gardening inspirations. The front yard has low maintenance xeriscape with mature landscape and irrigation. Several different colors of fragrant plumerias, hibiscus and bougainvillea line the periphery. Fruit trees consisting of bananas, coconuts and mangos offer a delightful fruit assortment. Mature succulents add a natural green privacy fence to the enclosed lanai on the west side. Some of the other trees on the property include Norfolk Pine, Ficus, Fan Palms, and a Lime tree. The side yards have ample room for future plantings and the backyard can be your private hide-away. Here in Waikoloa, many citrus trees grow very well in our climate. You can read my blog on community gardening in Waikoloa, if interested.

The Great Room

As you enter the home, the great room meets you with wonderful high vaulted ceilings. Extra louvered windows near the top of the ceiling provide additional air flow. Here on the islands we use the trade winds for added temperature control. Views of Mauna Kea and Kohala Mountains can be seen from the great room. There is access to two screened in lanais for your creative pleasure. Perhaps one can be used as an indoor/outdoor office; another as a workout room, playroom, yoga space, home schooling, or meditation area. The choice is yours and your ideas for use are endless.

Kitchen

The kitchen is a simple galley style kitchen. Cream colored cabinets are provided with ample storage space. One has access to the kitchen from either the great room or from the back bedrooms. The flooring is a medium toned wood laminate which is also installed in the great room, hallway and all 3 bedrooms. One continuous flooring makes this 1,232 square foot home easy to clean and seem bigger than it really is.

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom has 2 closets for storage and access to the large screened in lanai. The lanai and bedroom are located on the north side of the home and faces the backyard which has a collection of plants and trees. Green hues of color flood in from the large picture window and an en suite with a shower, completes the master bath. There is additional storage space for linens and towels in the bathroom.

Additional Highlights

There are two other bedrooms along with an oversized guest bathroom. The guest bath accommodates a full sized front load washer/dryer which can be stacked or side by side. The flooring is a vinyl laminate with more storage. The 2 car garage is attached and has built in shelves to store more items outdoors. All rooms have ceiling fans for great air flow.

Location

Waikoloa Village is located on the west side of the island of Hawaiʻi. From Route 19 it is approximately 6 miles east from the intersection, where Blue Hawaii Helicopters have their helicopter pad. You will be traveling through expansive lava fields with Mauna Kea in your front car window. Waikoloa is bordered by Puako to the west, Waimea approximately 14 miles northeast and Kailua Kona 28 miles to the southwest.

Enjoy living in the Waikoloa Village where everything is nearby. We are anticipating a brand new shopping center to be completed in 2021 along with a brand new funded library. The resorts and Kohala’s fabulous beaches are only a short 10 minute drive downhill. Well, I better make it that 12 minutes because I’m a slow driver. Plus, Waikoloa residents can enjoy our current shopping center, community pool, book mobile and community center complete with restaurant, offices and golf course.
