The Color of Culture and Defined Design

I find great inspiration when traveling. My European, South American, and South East Asian adventures have allowed me to experience very diverse cultures. I have always loved interior design and architecture. I enjoy great food and art. I love the diversity of culture. I realized that what I love about these experiences is the variety of color expressed always enhances my experience.

The three genres of design can be experienced in all creative expressions thru:

Traditionalism: defined as an advocate of maintaining tradition, especially so as to resist change: traditionalists, for example, fear that the character of the building might be lost. (New Oxford American Dictionary)

The foundation of traditionalism, maximalism, and minimalism, are great palettes to draw from in creating one’s own unique experience.

It takes risk to be in the unknowns of moving beyond the definitions of certain genres of thinking and design. I do find great beauty in moving beyond the boundaries and experiencing what is found in the unknowns. It doesn’t always have to be one or the other. Being “colorful” in a world that shares so much diversity supports uniqueness. It makes life a grand place to be in experiencing the many forms this can take.
