Week 21—Mahi Mahi Teriyaki Fish!

Mahi Mahi Teriyaki Fish

  • 1 Tbsp. sherry
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds
  • 2 pounds mahi mahi fillets (or other firm white fish)

Combine teriyaki sauce, sherry, and sesame seeds. Marinate fish for 1 hour, turning occasionally. Barbecue or broil 5 inches from broiler unit allowing 10 minutes per inch of thickness; turn halfway through determined cooking time. Baste occasionally with marinade. Makes 6 servings.

As mentioned in my first recipe blog, Hawaii is a wonderful mix of cultures and each of these peoples brought with them their customs and foods. The early plantation days saw these combining cultures creating foods that are unique only to Hawaii. We thank these early pioneers who planted and nurtured these plantation fields and created many of these amazing recipes.
