Agents

Spotlight on Noelani Spencer – Born & Raised on Hawai‘i Island

Noelani has an impressive resume, and anyone looking for a Hawai‘i Island real estate agent will benefit from her combination of experience and local island knowledge. She truly understands all aspects of buying and selling a home through her professional experience as a mortgage lender, property manager, and, more recently, as a licensed Hawai‘i real estate agent (and soon-to-be broker). She started her career at the age of 20, working for a mortgage broker in Waimea (locally known as Kamuela), where she was born and has lived her whole life.

If you’ve never been to Kamuela, it is truly an extraordinary place where higher altitudes mean cooler weather and where you’ll experience incredible views and a long and storied ranching history. It’s one of the oldest and most established communities on Hawai‘i Island. “I love that you can live here your whole life and still not have seen it all,” said Noelani about the vast, grassy hillsides that are characteristic of the area.

With a passion for helping families build their dream homes, Noelani specialized in land and construction loans in the mortgage industry. After learning everything there is to know about home loan financing, from mortgage origination through to closing, this entrepreneur launched her own cleaning business.

Naturally, this brought her in contact with homeowners with vacation rentals, and her small company nimbly evolved into a full-fledged property management firm serving her Big Island community. “I have grown a huge network of friends, vendors, and associates,” she shared. “You name it, and I know someone who can help you.”

In 2017, it seemed a natural next step to earn her Hawai‘i real estate license. “It happened so quickly and so organically. I felt like it was meant to be! I reached a place in my career that I was ready to grow and expand.”

She now specializes in land and construction purchases, which makes sense because she lives in one of the Hawaiian Islands’ least developed and most pristine areas. So if you’re looking for peace and quiet, stunningly beautiful landscapes, and a gentler pace of life, then Noelani can undoubtedly help you find a place to call home.

“I love my life here on the island and can’t imagine living anywhere else,” said shared. “In my eyes, it’s the best place on earth. The mountains, the ocean, and the aloha spirit are what makes this place so special.”

Since launching her real estate sales career, Noelani has helped more than 50 families buy or sell their Hawai‘i Island property. On a personal level, she knows the joy of new homeownership. She built her first home as a single mother when she was just 22 and her second home when she was 26. “I feel that I am a wealth of knowledge and experience and that I can be a huge asset to my clients,” said Noelani of her unique level of experience in all aspects of real estate.

Why Hawai‘i Life?

Noelani has proven herself to be a team player. “I love to network, collaborate and help my beautiful community,” she shared. She chose Hawai‘i Life after meeting with Lovette Llantos, one of Hawai‘i Life’s Brokers-in-Charge on Hawai‘i Island. “I love how it is locally owned, and they have massive support for their agents and team members. I feel very lucky to be with Hawai‘i Life,” she said, noting that the company has grown organically to compete with national brands using smart technology, relationships, and genuine aloha for Hawai‘i, its people, the land, and our community.

Noelani recently completed her broker licensing course and plans to take the exam to earn her Hawai‘i real estate broker’s license. “I am always trying to learn more and do more,” she said about her real estate practice. “I love making connections with people, cultivating lifelong relationships, and helping people realize their real estate goals and dreams.” In addition, she enjoys seeing different homes around the island and learning their history.

She says she’s inspired by Hawai‘i Island and everything that it offers, including the natural beauty of its mountains, sky, and ocean. “I am so blessed to be from here. I get to be outdoors all the time. The aloha spirit is alive and well.”

When she’s not working, Noelani enjoys deep sea fishing, scuba diving, and hunting. She also paddles and sails outrigger canoes. “It’s an incredible experience to cross channels, working with the ocean to travel from one place to the next. We get to see and experience things that not many people do. I have seen almost every side of the Big Island from the ocean. We compete; we do it for fun. I just love it.”
