A Sneak Peek Inside Kilauea Lighthouse Village

The New Kilauea Lighthouse Village

Kilauea is the heart of Kauai’s North Shore sitting at the northernmost point of the State. It is home to the historic Kilauea Lighthouse, a National Wildlife Refuge filled with rare and endangered species, and not to mention, Hawaii’s most expensive residential listing at $70 million. The new Kilauea Lighthouse Village is the North Shore’s newest grocery-anchored shopping center in over 40 years. Residents and tourists alike will enjoy a covered walkable mix of nine charming village buildings with public restrooms, bike racks, and landscaped areas. Currently, five known merchants have signed leases with the Village.

Kilauea Market + Café

The Kilauea Market + Café is not only a grocery store, customers will enjoy meals freshly prepared by their chefs, pau hana with a glass of wine or beer in their indoor or outdoor seating, plus sandwiches and food to go. According to Group Pacific (Hawaii), Inc’s Project Manager, Chip Doyle, the Market + Cafe is in the process of acquiring necessary permits to proceed with construction. More information on a projected opening date will be announced once they secure these permits.

Verde Restaurant is a local favorite specializing in New Mexico flavors with locally-sourced food. This will be Verde’s third location on Kauai.

Wailua Shave Ice offers delicious, made from scratch syrups and local fruit shave ice, acai bowls, and smoothies. Its products contain no artificial flavors, high fructose corn syrup, or dyes.

Wyland Gallery

Wyland Gallery will offer sculptures, original paintings, and other artwork by Wyland, the most collected marine artist in the world. Many locals recognize his artwork as they pass through Kapaa. His iconic Kauai Village clock tower and his “whaling wall” on the side of our new Ross are a few of Wyland’s artistic creations.

Kai Bar Coffee Roasters

Finally, to round off the Village’s merchants is Kai Bar Coffee Roasters. Kai Bar is a sister company to Kapaa’s popular Java Kai. They take their coffee roasting very seriously by serving awesome coffee and espressos. Breakfast, lunch, baked goods, pastries, smoothies, and acai bowls are among a few items on their menu. On weekends, they serve brunch.

The Kilauea Lighthouse Village is scheduled to open summer 2018, with Kilauea Market + Café opening later. Developers are slowing the arrival of additional merchants until the village has received maximum traffic.
