Run for Hope at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai

One of the many long-running charity events hosted at luxury resorts along Hawaii Island’s Kona-Kohala Coast is Run for Hope each September at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. The weekend event takes place Friday, September 8 through Sunday, September 10.

Together with the West Hawaii Unit of the American Cancer Society, Four Seasons Resort Hualalai presents this multi-day event benefiting cancer research with all proceeds staying here in the islands. Now in its 21st year, the annual event has raised more than $1.1 million to aid the fight against cancer.

The opening event, “Taste of Hawaii”, welcome cocktails.

Hawaii Island’s top chefs come out to support the Taste event at Four Seasons Hoku Amphitheater on Friday night.

Fresh, flavorful foods prevail at the Taste of Hawaii event.

Weekend fun starts with the popular “Taste of Hawaii Island” culinary event on Friday at 6:00pm. The Island’s top toques gather for an evening of tasty delights, cocktails and island music. The evening includes a stellar silent auction featuring everything from island specialties to unique, luxury vacation packages.

Saturday showcases a shotgun golf tournament at 1:00pm on the Jack Nicklaus-designed Hualalai Golf Course. At 2:00pm, tennis fans will enjoy a fun round robin tennis tournament at the Hualalai Tennis Club.

Sunday the annual Run for Hope begins with a 6:45 am warm-up; the race starts at 7:00am with a 10k run and 5k run/walk through the beautifully manicured resort grounds. The event concludes with refreshments and raffle prizes at the Hoku Amphitheater.
