Waikiki hotels are setting new records for occupancy and rates. The last peak in occupancy and rates was back in 2006 and 2007, which coincided with the peak in condo prices here as well. For buyers there is still an opportunity to buy at prices below the last peak.
Hotel residences, or condotels, is the one area of Waikiki real estate where we still have a large supply, which keeps a damper on prices, however, with this boom in rates and occupancy, I don’t expect this to last long. We are already seeing sales at or near the prior boom for select suites.

This holds true for Waikiki’s premier luxury hotel residence, Trump Tower Waikiki. The hotel does not release figures, but from what I am hearing from owners, they are seeing a record year as well. Rates and occupancy are subject to market forces and cannot be guaranteed, but when shopping for a hotel residence it is customary to ask for a recent statement of income and expenses.

Currently, there are 61 residences available for sale at Trump Waikiki. There are 3 in contract to sell with accepted offers, and a total of 22 that have sold in the last 180 days. Buyers have a large selection of condos right now to choose from including some great deals.
There are even a few standout units like #1614 (pictured above) available, but it’s best to act sooner rather than later if you want to get the best value and have the most selection.
