Puunoa Estates – Luxury Living Above Lahaina

The saying is Maui nō ka ‘oi  — meaning “Maui is best.”

It is also often heard that the “West is the best.” Living in Lahaina myself, I have to agree that West Maui has everything that makes Maui so wonderful. From Kapalua to Ukumehame, you will find everything you need or could want to do while on island. So how can it get better than having the best of the best?

Introducing Puunoa Estates – An Oasis Within An Oasis

Vast ocean and island views

Up in the foothills hovering above Lahaina town, and backing up to the dramatic West Maui Mountains, sit Puunoa Estates. Keep reading to find out more about the property in these captivating photos…

There will be many definitions of the word ‘estate,’ as it will embody many things to different people. To me, an estate has a certain grandness, loftiness, sense of space and privacy, and opulence. Puunoa Estates has all of this and more.

Development And Location

There were two phases of development in Puunoa; phase I and phase II, each consisted of 14 parcels. Within the gates sit 24 five-acre agriculturally zoned parcels (four lots are along the Lahaina Bypass which are slightly larger and not gated).

The lots and homes in Puunoa Estates all offer sweeping ocean and island views of Lanai, as well as of Lahaina Town. Being just south of Lahaina, it is that much closer to the other side of the island to explore the rest of Maui. Not that you would need to — the nightlife, shopping, restaurants, and beaches of Lahaina are literally down the hill. To the North, the resorts and golf courses of Kaanapali and Kapalua are only three miles and eight miles away, respectively. Sunshine? 365 days a year! Well, not quite, but pretty close. Sitting in the rain shadow of the West Maui Mountains, rain will occasionally fall with some Kona storms, but this location has arguably the best weather on the island.

Only a five-minute drive to Front Street in Lahaina

The expansiveness of a community consisting of five-acre parcels is not to be understated. The privacy and solitude are completely enchanting. The ability to create estates of most any size is compelling. There are currently two vacant lots in the gated development for sale, Lot 13 (MLS# 380463) listed at $1,850,000 is under contract at the time of this post, and Lot 7 (MLS#376922) listed at $1,550,000 is available to purchase (Both listed with Mary Anne Fitch of Hawaii Life).

The Best Value Can Be Yours Now

But why build when you can purchase the view and property you have been admiring in the post? Listed at $3,495,000, 132 Mele Komo Pl (MLS# 379523) represents a tremendous value for the quality of construction, immense views, coupled with mature and meticulously landscaped five acres (listed by Mary Anne Fitch and Ray Chin of Hawaii Life). Currently set up as an equestrian estate with stables, this property has the ability to add a 1,000 sq/ft cottage to make it even that much more perfect. Were horses not your cup of tea, you can decide to pursue a wide array of agricultural pursuits, if you so choose. This one will not be on the market long! Allow me to give you a personal tour of this enchanting property and neighborhood.
