Puako Beach Market Update

The end of “fall” and start of winter in Puako Beach, on the sunny Kohala Coast, brings nearly perfect weather, whales, surf—and an exciting sale! One Puako sold on November 30th, for $5.6M—over asking price by just under 2%.

Asking $1,050,000, this cottage (MLS# 240224) is a few hundred feet from the beach!

As you might know from reading previous blogs, my beach “cottage” is on the market as well—#35 Puako Beach Drive, on the mauka side of the road. It’s been quite a process over the past few months, of cleaning up, de-personalizing, de-cluttering, and generally preparing to “let go” of the property. Friday was the North Kohala Caravan (Broker’s Open) and apparently the feedback was positive, or at least according to my (lifesaving) Realtor, Jan Nores, R(S).

Why lifesaving? Because I am so emotionally attached to this property, that even with all my experience, education, and professionalism, there is simply no way I could effectively and efficiently go through this process of selling our house without Jan’s expertise. (Which, believe me, I often “fought” along the way. “How could she make me pack my favorite photos?” “Why on earth does Jan want us to…”) And I have to laugh along with every single one of my sellers who admits, “well, now that my house looks perfect, I don’t want to sell!” Thanks, Jan. You are an incredible Realtor.

Ready to make an appointment to see my house? I would love to show it to you, but alas, I won’t be here when you see it. That’s because it’s in everybody’s best interest if I, as the Seller, am not present during showings or previews. Would I love to be a fly on the wall to hear what people really think? You bet I would! Once again, I defer to the instructions from my Realtor, “Thou shalt leave the property for all showings and previews.”

So, contact Jan Nores, R(S), and come see my house! And if you want to leave comments below telling me what you “really” think, I would love that!!

P.S. Make sure you walk across the street to see the turtles—they are almost always there on the beach. Enjoy!

Hi Katie! For those of us who want to see more pics of the interior, a MLS listing link or more pics of the house would be great! I can also post this on my http://www.facebook.com/365Kona blog to show people what a cottage on a beach in a swanky neighborhood looks like and costs..you never know who may be looking!
