PiliMai at Poipu is Taking Shape (Poipu, Kauai)

Watching sunsets, basking in botanical gardens, snorkeling at Lawai Beach (just going to the beach, really), eating/shopping at the Shops at Kukui’ula – what’s not to love about Poipu?

As Kauai’s South Shore resort town, Poipu’s been a place vacationers and locals have enjoyed for generations. With much of the vacation rental condo inventory dating 35 years old (circa 1980), many of the condominiums for sale do not meet the needs of today’s buyers who want modern features like central AC and high ceilings.

There’s a new townhome-style development near Kiahuna Golf Course now under construction that is filling a much needed niche in the Poipu Resort real estate market, for both sales and future vacation rental demand.

Poipu’s Newest Neighborhood Has a Lot to Offer

PiliMai at Poipu offers 191 “casual luxury” plantation-style townhomes with ocean, Kiahuna golf course, and mountain views. The 2, 3 and 4-bedroom air-conditioned condos are offered in 7 different floorplans and each condo has a private 1-car garage, making PiliMai at Poipu the only condo complex on the South Shore where each unit has its own garage.

Yesterday was the grand unveiling of the model homes. Poipu really needed new housing with modern construction, high ceilings, central air conditioning, low association fees, in the Visitor Destination Area of Poipu, where vacation rentals are allowed.

For the buyer who values the convenience of an optional furniture package, there are three attractive choices. Brookfield homes is spot-on with this development. They are meeting a segment of the resort market that needed new inventory.

With construction for the first building (Building 10) completed, the first sales closing this month, and Building 11 soon to follow suit, there is limited availability to claim one of the few remaining units in either of these first two buildings. Just recently, the developer has begun taking reservations for Building 15. This building is at the main entrance to PiliMai and the construction crew was out in full force starting construction on Building 15 and finishing Building 11.
