Larry Ellison Plans to Build a New World Class Hawaii Tennis Destination on Lanai

The BIG news in Hawaii is that Larry Ellison, Oracle Corp. CEO, is planning to build a new tennis venue on Lānaʻi! How can it possibly get better than this? Larry obviously knows how to create an incredible tennis facility and venue.

The fact that he has chosen Lānaʻi is a great opportunity for Hawaii, and many people who love tennis and want the beautiful accommodations you have here on the islands! Lānaʻi is the sixth-largest of the Hawaiian Islands and the smallest publicly accessible inhabited island in the chain. It is also known as “Pineapple Island” because of its past as an island-wide pineapple plantation.

Big Changes Ahead for Lanai

Larry, who is an avid tennis player and owner of BNP Paribas Open and the majority owner of the island of Lānaʻi, is planning on building a 50 acre tennis academy in town. He is also buying Go! Airlines, so getting to Lānaʻi is about to become more accessible. Larry is very aka mai, which means smart or savvy.

This is going to be a big change for this small island, but what a fantastic opportunity for tennis players and vacationers as well! Look for new opportunities as home buyers and investors too! I am excited to see these changes and getting to play tennis at a fantastic venue will be so much fun.

Here are a few tennis lovers from the Big Island!

I am not alone, there is a huge community of tennis players on all the islands, so it will be destination Lānaʻi for tennis! One of Larry’s other loves is yacht racing, so don’t be surprised to see this happening in the waters near Lanai. PBN reported that Larry wants to turn one of the harbors into a world-class yacht harbor.

I am looking forward to the new changes and opportunities that are coming to Hawaii and Lānaʻi…maybe Larry will want to play some doubles?
