D.R. Horton announced that Phase 2 of Pohakala at Mehana will be the last affordable housing at Mehana at Kapolei. Lottery applications are being accepted from June 3 – 10, 2017 and the drawing will be held on June 17, 2017 at 10am.
Pohakala at Mehana are brand new 2-3 bedroom affordable townhomes priced from $335k – $440k fee simple. There is a 4-year owner occupancy requirement and purchasers must meet the City and County of Honolulu’s 120% of medium income eligibility requirements to purchase a home.
The new townhomes feature kitchens with a range/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, stainless steel sink, and a washer/dryer. Energy efficient features include energy efficient lighting and fans, dual-glazed low-E windows, and much more. The community amenities include: the Mehana Activity Center, swimming pool, recreation center, walking and biking paths, Pawsome Park dog park, Central public park, Sundial park, and the T.R.A.C. toddler trike park.

If you are interested in these homes and want to participate in the lottery, please contact me. We will visit the sales office and get you registered. A pre-approval letter will be required by a lender of your choice. If you use D.R. Horton’s in-house lender, they offer an incentive to closing costs. The lottery application packet will need to be completed prior to June 10, 2017 by 5 pm and the Owner-Occupant Affidavit form will need to be notarized. If your name is selected in the lottery, a $1,000 earnest money deposit will be collected to secure your home.
