Military

Military Mom/Military Specialist

I’m a Navy mom. My son is an officer. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He’s been deployed twice. To the middle east. He trains hard. Works hard. Serves hard. I’m very proud of him. I’m also very aware of the sacrifice our military men and women (and their families) make. The military life is not easy, but there are benefits. One of the benefits is the VA mortgage loan.

My son bought his first condo while assigned to duty in San Diego. He was only 22 yeas old. He bought his first single-family residence last year. This year, he bought his first investment property. He’s now 28. He would not be foraging into the real estate investment world without the benefits that come with his service to our country. Thank you, Uncle Sam!

I’m grateful that my son and his wife were able to buy their own home. They worked hard, saved, and took advantage of VA financing. Their dream of homeownership was realized without the help of parents. A seasoned lender who understood the unique needs of the military assisted them. They obtained a VA mortgage at a great interest rate and with favorable terms. Oh, and they had a Realtor who understood the unique facets of military purchasing and financing — yours truly. Helping my kiddos buy their first home was thrilling. I’m no less thrilled when I get to help other military families realize theirs. It never gets old. Never.

If you are in the military, you deserve VA benefits. Have you been under-utilizing what is available to you? If you have served or are currently serving, be sure to take advantage of the perks that are available to you and your family. There are insurance, health, and financing benefits, to name a few. And, there are people and resources available to help you navigate the process of buying and selling your home. People in my industry and related industries really want to help. Really.

Thank you for serving. We are grateful. And yes, that is my son giving President Obama the shaka.
