Maui Weekly What’s Happening May 20, 2022

Happy Aloha Friday! In an effort to keep you informed of what’s happening on Maui, take a peek at what we have compiled for things to do this weekend. Let’s show some support for our island community members offering us all of these great activities as we get back to a more new normal life. 🙂 Here are some cool things happening on Maui this weekend. Some good doses of theater as well as family fun, local music and outdoor adventure. Have fun and stay safe!!

Wizard of Oz: The Deleted Scene at the Historic Iao Theater

Saturday, May 21 at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm

Sunday, May 22 at 3:00 pm

Writer Eddie McPherson takes our favorite story on a detour when Dorothy is sidetracked by a farmer offering an alternate route to the wizard’s front door. The shortcut doesn’t even take her to the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. It takes her to the Mediocre Wizard of the South Swamp! Cameo appearances by Hansel and Gretel, Jack and Jill, a Munchkin TV reporter and more add to the hilarity of this clever parody that’s fun for all ages.

Directed by Tina Kailiponi
