Maui Weekend Events – October 14, 2022

Aloha friends!  Festivals, parades, and lots of music happening this weekend on Maui. Festivals of Aloha will be in Hana this weekend into next. We also have the 2022 Maui Steal Guitar Festival and the Lahaina 2nd Friday Town Party. Additionally, big band and swing fans can dance the night away to the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at the MACC this Saturday. And last but not least, remember to wish your sweetie a happy Sweetest Day on Saturday.

2022 Maui Steel Guitar Festival

This year, we have two opportunities to catch the Maui Steel Guitar Festival being held Saturday, October 15th at the Shops at Wailea and Sunday, October 16th at the Queen Kaahumanu Center from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. This is a free event to promote the appreciation and interest in the Hawaiian Steel Guitar. The festival is produced and presented by the Hawaiian Institute for Music Enrichment and Learning Experiences, HIMELE.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy With Special Guests Gypsy Pacific

If big bands is your jam, check out Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at the MACC’s Castle Theater this Friday, October 14th at 7:30 pm. There will be a dance floor fronting the stage open to orchestra seat holders.  Food and beverages will be available for purchase from 5:30 – 7:30 pm in the Yokouchi Pavilion. See full menu here.

Lahaina 2nd Friday

Maui Friday Town Parties bring the community together for a pau hana night of music, art, food, and Maui culture.  Friday night is Art Night in Lahaina every week. 2nd Friday brings additional local vendors to the party. Also on the agenda this month is a FREE outdoor movie night at the Lahaina Jodo Mission. Hotel Transylvania 3: A Monster Vacation will be shown and complimentary popcorn while supplies last will be provided by FuzzBox. Bring snacks and nonalcoholic beverages. Mats, blankets, or low beach chairs are recommended as seating is not provided. Costumes encouraged. Movie starts at 7:00 PM

Hana Festivals of Aloha

The Hana Festival of Aloha opens this weekend and continues through the week closing out next Saturday night with Hoike Night at Hana Bay. The Festival opens this Saturday, October 15th with the Parade and Hoolaulea at 11:00 am followed by entertainment at 1:00  – 3:00 pm at the Hana Ballpark. Saturday night features Sports Night at Hana Ballpark beginning at 5:00 pm. Sunday morning is the Fishing Contest at Hana Bay and Play Day in the afternoon from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
